After Effects Crash Course

On Tuesday, our colleague Bigyan Gautam gave a KSS on “After Effects Crash Course”. After Effects is a 2D animation software used for vector animations and special effects. He covered basic information about the interface of the program and a simple animation of a demo webpage designed in figma and how to publish the animation using lottie files plugin.

You can find aftereffects session recording here.

Standards using Frontend tools

Frontend ninja Dhondup Lama gave a KSS about ‘Creating code standards using Frontend tools’. He talked about the importance of having a standard and how we can maintain certain standards across frontend code using tools like Prettier, Stylelint, Stylelint-order. Here is the small setup code(https://github.com/duptitung/stylelint-prettier-setup) if you like to explore more.

Learning Embroidery

This week, Bibha Tandukar (Bibhs) learnt a new skill- Embroidery.

Embroidery isn’t as simple as it looks, but is not as hard as it sounds. Since she knew the basics of stitching, it did not take her as much time to figure it out as she anticipated it would. She really enjoyed the whole process, it kept her occupied for some time and took mind off things. It was almost therapeutic for her.

Great going Bibha. The art looks awesome.

Apple Recall program

Recently one of my colleague, Biju Nakarmi had apply for keyboard service program for MacBook Pro where Apple repaired hiskeyboard and battery- for FREE!

Apple has determined that a small percentage of the keyboards in certain MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro models may exhibit one or more of the following behaviors:

  • Letters or characters repeat unexpectedly
  • Letters or characters do not appear when typed
  • Key(s) feel “sticky” or do not respond in a consistent manner

Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will provide service to eligible MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro keyboards, free of charge. The type of service will be determined after the keyboard is examined thoroughly.

If anyone who owns a MacBook Pro and is facing similar problem(s) then hurry up and apply for this program from here.
