Don’t seek for everything to happen as you wish it would, but rather wish that everything happens as it actually will — then your life will flow well. — Epictetus

As the country entered the sixth week of the lock-down imposed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, we continued our work from home with a major missing of office environment, face-to-face interaction, and of course lunch and many more. And it's not just us missing our office. People from the world who are currently enforced to work from home are in the same state. That’s why people come up with ideas like imisstheoffice and soundofcolleagues and are on trending recently.

Our empty workplace.

I hope we will get over this situation real soon!

Birthday 🎂

It is said that every year on our birthday, we get a chance to start new. This week Karuna Nakarmi had her birthday. All of us wished her virtually over slack, private messages, and through other medium. Happy Birthday 🎉 once again, and of course treat 🍫 is pending.

YI Sessions

In this week’s YI Sessions, Anjana Rupakheti shared about a book she is reading, Ashtavakra Gita (अष्टावक्र गीता). Ashtavakra Gita is a dialogue between King Janak and Ashtavakra, a revered Vedic sage in Hinduism. Every word of this book triggers the self-realization. Questions related to knowledge, bondage & liberation, detachment, dissolution, quietude, wisdom, happiness, abiding by self, tranquility, knowledge of self, and many more have been answered. Ashtavakra says, “ ‘I’ inverts the world of material, and we began to live with endless choices and keeps running behind it until the end of the day. What if for a second we just become ourselves, forgive and forget all the body and senses, be happy. Let the mind dissolves into nothingness. Let’s be self-aware.” You can read the book from this link.

Other useful resources shared in the session are:

Later, after the Anjana’s sharing, there was a brief talk about general reading habits and its benefits where Anjesh Tuladhar shared his experience of reading books.

The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice. — Brian Herbert

In YoungInnovations, all of us keep on learning new stuff whenever we get time. This can be seen even in our internal task tracking system, Sombar, as well.

Time spending on general learning as seen in Sombar.

Backend KSS on Inertia.js

This week, Puncoz Nepal gave a session on “Inertia.js for Laravel”. Inertia.js let us build a single page application using server-side routing, controllers, and ORM. Here are some resources for Inertia.js
