Hello everyone!!

The week has passed by taking the winter chills along with it but the rain is back again. Hope that everyone had a productive week!

Knowledge sharing on Port and Adapters

One of our co-founders, Bibek, has returned to Nepal on a short holiday. He was working as a senior developer at Runtastic in Austria and soon he is joining Shopify in Canada.

KSW on Ports and Adapter Pattern

On Wednesday, he shared his knowledge and experience on ports and adapter design pattern. Kicking off with the pros and cons of MVC pattern, he later explained the advantages of using ports and adapter pattern. We were highly fascinated by the concept of ports and adapter pattern; isolating the core logic of a feature and later making it adoptable and portable to any platform by applying ports and adapters.

IT Company Meet 2017 @ Deerwalk Institute

On Thursday, Deerwalk Institute has organised ‘IT Company Meet 2017’ at their premises. Sanjeena (sanjeena) and Samita attended the program from our company. The main agenda of the program was to identify the gap between the academics and the IT industry. As a result, they will be organizing a job fair on 3rd week of March where there will be stalls of various IT companies of Nepal. Students, from various IT colleges of Nepal, will have an opportunity to meet many established Nepali IT companies and explore the possibilities to land one of the lucrative jobs in Nepal. If you are one of the students looking to join us, visit our stall and see if we would tune in. See you there!

Analysis of Tanzanian IATI Data

Anjesh (anjesh) had published a series of blog posts on analysis of IATI data of Tanzania to focus on the adoption of AidStream by Tanzanian NGOs. His analysis identified several quality issues with the data and has stirred some discussion in the IATI community.

Here are the links to the posts by Anjesh:

1. Tanzania NGOs: A quick analysis from IATI data

2. Tanzanian IATI Data: Diving into sectors with focus on Health

So, that’s it for this week. Have a great weekend. :)
