KSS on web mapping

Last Monday, Bimal shared about web mapping in one of our Knowledge Sharing Session. The session was on working with web maps and how we have been using it here in our projects. The main objective of his session was to make the participants familiarize with web mapping along with it’s tools and techniques. Topics that he covered were leafletjs, mapbox, types of maps, their features and more. Participants of the session also shared their experiences on web mapping with others.

Training to surveyors

Yesterday, Bibhusan (bibhusan) and Saroj conducted a training on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Survey hosted by CAHURAST Nepal in Dhading district to surveyors. The surveyors were trained to use the tablet/mobile based data collection tool. They will soon be deployed to do a survey with schools and health centers in the district.

Sindhupalcheck video

Sindhupalcheck is an app for real-time citizen feedback on the effectiveness of constructing earthquake resilient homes in Nepal. We have used Progressive Web App to develop the app for Integrity Action. Integrity Action has developed a video about the app.

Happy Birthday

Why are birthdays good for you? Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest! (source: onlinefun)

On that note, Happy Birthday Suraj and Bikram. All of us would like to wish you the best. And thank you for the sweets.

Happy Tihar

I know it’s not Friday but you might be wondering why we are publishing the weekly today. Because our Tihar holidays starts tomorrow. I hope most of us are very fond of rhythmically dancing lights firing various combination of colors that covers all our surroundings during this season. If you are like me, you must be already excited for Tihar. Let us all shine for ourselves and others.

We wish you a very Happy Tihar!
