YoungInnovations Weekly #100 — Workshop, farewell, birthday and history of weeklies
Another week has gone by! Time flies, doesn’t it?
Let’s begin with the weather, it has been a rainy week and the clouds have been going wild; the clouds are beautiful to watch. If cloud watching is not in your list of hobbies, you should add it.
Before we move on to the updates, let me tell you this weekly is quite special for us. We have hit a century with the blogs, that is, this is our 100th weekly. This is quite an achievement for us, for this show how consistent we have been. If you look at our earlier weeklies and later weeklies, you will notice how our weeklies have evolved and there is a story to tell. The history of the weeklies will follow later in this weekly, you might find it interesting. But first let’s begin with the updates.

Farewell Rakeeb, you will be missed!
Yea, you read it right!
Our cherished android developer, Rakeeb Rajbhandari has left the building but not our hearts. Monday was his last day of work here at YoungInnovations, which ended with an all-hands to bid him farewell.
We wish him great success for his future endeavour; continue to grow, shine and make people laugh like you always did here. Your presence will be dearly missed brother.

Happy Birthday Aayush Rijal! Wish you great years ahead filled with happiness and success! Thank you for the chocolates.
Table tennis singles competition continues
I’m happy to let you know, the craze of Table tennis continues to grow here. The lunch hour has become more about this competition rather than eating lunch and funny thing is, nobody is complaining.
May the best player win!
Now moving on to the history,
History of YoungInnovations weeklies
We have a great sharing culture here at YoungInnovations and sharing just knowledge is not where it ends. We believe in helping each other perform better, help each other learn and grow, and there is where it started. We started sharing links of news, updates happening in this ever changing world of Technology and interesting stuffs we found on internet with each other but we thought why stop there. We thought it might be interesting for people outside of YoungInnovations, yes I am talking to you, to learn about what our developers, designers and the rest are looking at.
As to how we did it, no we did not copy paste everything into the weeklies. We build a bookmark tool for chrome which would add the bookmarked link to a google sheet. And then we used another tool which converted the links in the google sheet into a list of links in markdown. That we copy pasted to our weeklies. This took effort from our co-founder Geshan Manandhar and Sr. Software Engineer Sumit Chhetri, who was working with us then. We want to thank them both, and Prawesh Shrestha for their effort, because of them the weeklies took off and now has reached it’s 100th week.
Over the 100 weeklies, it has changed quite a bit. It is bigger now, it has become more about sharing what is happening here at YoungInnovations. We hope with the recent weeklies we have been able to take you inside YoungInnovations to learn about what has been keeping us busy, the events happening inside the building and the events outside we have been part of, our proud moments, our happiness and our sadness(goodbyes are never easy).
The content of the weeklies might have changed but our intent of the weeklies has not. We believe in sharing and so we shall. We hope you stay tuned to our weeklies in the weeks to come.
Starting is one thing but keeping it going is a whole another task. For keeping the weeklies going on time, we are thankful to Prawesh Shrestha and samita lalchan for all the effort they put in.
